Yumika Sterling Obituary

Mrs. Yumika C. Sterling, 46, of Aubrey, Texas, formerly of Hope, Arkansas passed away peacefully at Medical Center in Denton, Texas. She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, cousin, wife to her husband Mr. Mitchell Sterling. She was a devoted LVN to her patients. Most importantly, at an early age she accepted Jesus Christ and became a member at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Columbus, Arkansas.

Mrs. Sterling was born to the late Mr. Carl Hershey Porter and Mrs. Gloria Walker-Porter on October 28, 1977 in Hope, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by and leaves to cherish her memories her husband and two sons, Mr. Mitchell Sterling of Aubrey, Texas, Jaylon Sterling and Chancellor Sterling of Aubrey, Texas. Her mother, Mrs. Gloria Porter of Little Rock, Arkansas. One brother Varnado Williams of Dallas, Texas and one sister Lashika Porter of Columbus, Arkansas. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and former co-workers, and other family members.

Mrs. Yumika loved her family and children, hanging out with close friends, reading, Butterflies, and having breakfast/brunch on a regular basis.

Her service will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Rising Star Baptist Church, 1002 Beech Street, Hope, Arkansas 71801 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Roderick Trotter will be the Officiant and Eulogist, under the direction of the Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Staff with interment immediately following her service at Camp Springs Cemetery in Columbus, Arkansas. Public Visitation will be Friday, August 2, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:30 P.M. in the Hamilton-Davis Chapel. The wake will be Friday, August 2, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.

A final viewing will be held prior to the service, so please govern yourselves accordingly.

Masks are optional but highly recommended for the health, safety, and well-being of those who will be in attendance.
