September 20, 1960 – December 1, 2024

Ms. Terri Wheelington, 64 of Stamps, Arkansas, formerly of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away at her residence on the morning of Sunday December 1, 2024. She was a beloved daughter,mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a student at and graduated from the Academy of the Sacred Heart Catholic School in New Orleans, Louisiana. She had an infectious sense of humor, she loved making and seeing people smile, and one couldn’t help but to smile or laugh when in her presence.

Ms. Wheelington was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, September 20, 1960, to the late Mr. Edward Francis Matthew and the late Mrs. Norma Daigle-Matthew, both of New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated from high school and went on to cosmetology school and was a hairdresser for a living until she retired. In her younger years, she met and married Mr. Rusty Wheelington and from that marriage two children were born.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, and her husband of 40 years, Rusty. One brother, Kelly Matthew and one sister, Cynthia Hartley.

She is survived by her daughter, Ms. Jessica Price, (Christopher Martin) of Stamps, Arkansas and her son, Mr. Zachary Wheelington of Texarkana, Arkansas. Her brothers and sisters, Edward Matthew, Michael (Linda Matthew, Timmy (Laura) Matthew, and Tammy (Joel) Klein. As she referred to them, her grandbabies, Zahari, ZaKayla, Royal, Leighton, ZaKayden, Chayce, legacy and Devin.

Terri always talked about the love of her life, her husband and how one of these days she would meet him in heaven. She will be terribly missed by many people but will be forever remembered by her dear friends, Tina Cooks, Tynisha Johnson, Tenesha Manley and Dorothy Davis.

Cremation services were provided through Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home and the family will do their own private memorial service on a later date and time.
