Deacon Robert N. Wise, Sr.
June 19, 1937 – May 9, 2024
Deacon Robert Nathaniel Wise, Sr. 86, of Lewisville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Thursday, May 9, 2024, surrounded by family members. Deacon Wise was a hardworking man, a loving, son, brother, husband, father, uncle, cousin, grandfather, and friend. Most importantly, he was a devout Christian and Deacon until his health caused him to not be able to attend church services.
Deacon Wise was born to the late Mr. Nathaniel Wise and the late Mrs. Thalia Gaines Wise on June 19, 1937. Robert attended and graduated from Foster High School in Lewisville, Arkansas. He became an employee of Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant in Texarkana, Texas where he worked for approximately 6 years as an Ammunition Worker. He went on to gain employment with Cotton Belt Railroad Company of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, later named Union Pacific. After 30 years working with the railroad, he retired, but continued to work tirelessly on various special projects for himself and others.
Deacon Wise was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Nathaniel Wise, his mother, Mrs. Thalia Wise, a son, Mr. Robert Wise, Jr., brothers, William, Clarence, Elliott, Madie, and Ellis.
He is survived by and leaves to cherish his life’s memories his wife of forty-six years, Mrs. Linda S. Wise, his daughters, Ms. Sherry Wise of Texarkana, Arkansas, Ms. Robin Wise of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Ms. Tiwana Wise of Texarkana, Texas, Ms. Virginia Perry of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Mrs. Valerie (Edward) Johnson of Lewisville, Arkansas. His grandchildren; Courttenay Wise of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Nicholas Wise of San Antonio, Texas, Shambrekia Wise of Chicago, Illinois, and Korvaleious Johnson of Lewisville, Arkansas. His great-grandchildren; Gabryella Stevenson of Port Arthur, Texas, Jeremiah Wise of El Reno, Oklahoma, and Sandiya Wise of Chicago, Illinois. His only surviving brother, Mr. Otis (Pearl) Wise of DeSoto, Texas. Two sisters-in-law; Mrs. Shirley Wise of Killeen, Texas, and Mrs. Ozie Wise of Dallas, Texas
His service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 13, 2024, at Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 415 East First Street; Stamps, Arkansas 71860, where Pastor Frederick Webb will serve as Officiant and Eulogist. Interment will be immediately following the service at Wise Cemetery Highway 29 North at Cemetery Road, (Old Town) Lewisville, Arkansas.
