Mr. Robert C. Edwards

April 10, 1952 – September 27, 2025

Mr. Robert C. Edwards, 73. Of Texarkana, Texas, passed away at Christus St. Michael Healthcare System, in Texarkana, Texas after a battle with health concerns. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was a man who loved competition, whether it was while serving as a Texas Athletic Association Sports Official or just during a friendly game of dominoes, in which he felt like he was the best.

He was born to the late Ms. Vernetta Edwards, in Texarkana, Texas. April 10, 1952, and raised her and his grandfather. He spent his formative years in Texarkana, Texas, Elementary and Middle Schools and went on to graduate from Liberty-Eylau High School in the Class of 1970, where he excelled in athletics. He spent some time in college but later decided he would join and serve the United States Air Force. After an Honorable Discharge he ended up working for Red River Army Depot, in the shipping and receiving department, where he stayed for a long career of thirty years before he decided to retire.

He was preceded in death by his mother, the late Ms. Vernetta Edwards and his grandfather, Mr. Joe Edwards. Two siblings, Mr. Ben Neal and Ms. Meladie Jackson and a son, Carlos Lamont Reynolds.

He is survived by and leaves to cherish his many memories, his wife of twenty-seven years and the love of his life, Mrs. Rosie Lee Reynolds – Edwards. One daughter, Ms. Tori Scott of Texarkana, Texas. Two sons, Mr. Damien Edwards (Julie) of San Antonio, Texas and Mr. Ben Butler of Texarkana, Texas. His six grandchildren, KeAndra Scott, Keyon Cooksey, Jr, Daylan Davis, Mila Edwards, Gianna Edwards, and Julien Edwards and four great grandchildren. His brothers in law and sisters in law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, classmates, former co-workers and his best friend. Mr. William Henderson.

His service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 3, 2025, at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens, 1001 North Kings Highway, Texarkana, Texas. 75501, with a public viewing from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. where Pastor Sylvester Tatum will serve as Officiant and Eulogist under the direction of Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home. Interment will be immediately following his service on the grounds of Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
