Louise Steward Obituary
Mrs. Louise Steward
May 12, 1935 – December 17, 2023
Mrs. Louise Steward, 88, of Lewisville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 17, 2023, surrounded by her family members. She was the wife of Mr. Thomas I. Steward, and they moved back to Arkansas from California after many years there and after they had both retired. She worked as a housekeeper for several doctors’ offices in California and helped many families by serving as a nanny to their children and played an important role, not to those families but assisted in raising a whole lot more children. She loved her family, having fun, entertaining, shopping, eating fish, and played a viscous game of spades. Most importantly she was a devout and dedicated Christian who served as an active member of St. James Baptist Church in Lewisville, Arkansas until her health forced her to not be able to attend.
Mrs. Steward was born to the late Mr. Mosie Patterson and the late Mrs. Zonie Hall-Patterson in Falcon, Arkansas on May 12, 1935. She was preceded in death by both parents and her only son. Two brothers, Mr. Roosevelt Patterson, and Mr. LeRoy Wilson and one sister, Ms. Ola Mae Patterson.
She is survived by her husband, Mr. Thomas I. Steward, her last living sister, Mrs. Clara Cooper. Three nephews, Mr. Dwayne (Patsy) Cooper of Cedar Hill, Texas, Mr. Curtis, Jr. (Brenda) Cooper and Mr. Gregory (Carol) Cooper both of Lewisville, Arkansas and a niece, Mrs. Cora (Billy) Mosley of Midlothian, Texas. A host of great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and former fellow church members.
Her service will be held at Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home, 415 East First Street, Stamps, Arkansas, Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. There will be a public visitation at Hamilton-Davis Chapel on Friday December 22, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. with interment at Old Town Cemetery, Highway 29 North and Cemetery Road in Lewisville, Arkansas under the direction of the Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Staff.
The service will be viewable livestream on the Hamilton-Davis website at: https://www.hamiltondavisfuneralhome.com.
