Mr. Johnny Lee “John” Cridell, 76, of Stamps, Arkansas, formerly of Texarkana, passed away peacefully at his residence in Stamps, Arkansas on the morning of Sunday, September 21, 2025, after a battle with health concerns. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Most importantly he was a Christian who served as a deacon and choir member at Buchanan Missionary Baptist Church in Stamps, Arkansas.

Upon his release from the Army, he went on to do a variety of jobs until he found his permanent home as an employee for the Haliburton Company, where he stayed until 2009 and retired after twenty-nine years of employment for them. He wasn’t satisfied with just sitting idle so he took on employment for CADC as a van driver transporting children and disabled clients at the same time driving a school bus for the Lafayette County School District which he did until his health declined and he was no longer able to work.

On December 28, 1990, he married the love of his life, Ms. Ella Lene Walker, they went on to spend a devoted thirty-four years of his life to her standing on the marital vows, “Til death do us part.” When he wasn’t sharing his time with her, he spent his time watching old westerns, especially “Gunsmoke,” during football season, watching the Indianapolis Colts or listening to music, blues and gospel.

He devoted his life to Christ at an early age and rededicated his life to Christ by joining the Buchanan Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a choir member and was ordained to serve as a deacon under the leadership of Pastor M.L. Glover in 2007. He loved serving God and did so through song service.

He departed his earthly home in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 21, 2025, surrounded by his family members. He was preceded in death by both his parents, his two brothers, DeWayne Cridell, and Junell Cridell.
