Ms. Janet Jones, 69, of Delight Arkansas, passed away in a Hot Springs, Arkansas Hospital on the afternoon of Friday, November 17, 2023. Ms. Jones had battled with multiple illnesses over the past few months and years. She had served as a Secretary and Bookkeeper for the Delight Public School district.

When she wasn’t working at or for the school, she spent her spare time cooking, making bread, playing solitaire, doing word searches, watching the gameshow network and the food network and she volunteered for 4-H clubs for years.

She was born to Mr. Rodney “Doc” Dedner and Mrs. Martha Louise Maxwell-Dedner September 16, 1954. She loved her siblings, her children, and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents, four brothers, Robert Humphrey, Junior Humphrey, Jarvis Dedner, and Rodney Benard Dedner. Two sisters, Rose Corneilous, and Nancy Harris.

She is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Mr. Edward L. Jones, her son, Thurman “T.J.” (Jennifer) Jones of Corinth, Texas and her daughter, Natalie Jones of Blevins, Arkansas. Two grandchildren, Addison Jones, and Emerson Jones both of Corinth Texas. Three honorary grandchildren, Avery Dedner, Braxton Dedner , Brayden Dedner. Her brother James Humphrey of Amarillo Texas, four sisters, Martha Kay Dedner of Camden, Arkansas, Wanda Dedner of Rockwall, Neever Martinez of Texarkana, Texas Miriam Dedner of Mesquite,Texas as well as a host of nieces, nephews cousins and former co-workers. Her service is scheduled for Saturday November 25, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at the Delight High School Gymnasium, Delight, Arkansas with interment immediately after her service in Oak Grove Cemetery, Lockesburg, Arkansas under the direction of Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Staff. There will be a public visitation at Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Chapel Friday, November 24, 2023 at Hamilton-Davis Chapel from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
