James Delma “Pistol” Madison

October 2, 1946 – October 28, 2025

Mr. James “Pistol” Madison, 79. of Buckner, Arkansas, passed away at his residence on the evening of October 28, 2025. Pistol was a man who loved people and would give his last to anybody. He was a hardworking man when he was able to work and had been an excellent son, and father. He could always be found around the community visiting someone’s funeral service of visitation.

Mr. Madison was born October 2, 1945, to the late Mr. James Madison and the late Mrs. Beulah Beasley - Madison in Willisville, Arkansas. He united with Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at an early age. Later in life he united with New Hope Baptist Church in Falcon, Arkansas, finally finding a church home at Clevet Springs Baptist Church, where he remained faithful unto death. He was a proud 1967 graduate of Oak Grove High School. He went to work for Alumax Aluminum shortly after graduation and remained employed there until his retirement after more than thirty years.

He was preceded in death by both parents, and a sister Ms. Josephine Tillman. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marriah A. Reed-Madison, his only daughter, Tanisha Ritterman, her husband, Joshua Alexander Ritterman and his only grandson, Rohan Alexander Rittermann, all of Arkadelphia, Arkansas. His cousins, Melvin Madison, Jr., Billy Ray Madison, Lee Madison, Sue Madison, and Leatrice Madison. Some very special friends, Brother Chester Paden, Brother Troy Lowe, Brother Louis Perry Lowe, Brother Terry Lowe, Brother Jerry Lowe and Brother Al Sims.

He spent his free time watching basketball, going fishing and just being outdoors. He also loved spending time with his family, his daughter and his only grandchild and his many extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 415 East First Street, Stamps, Arkansas 71860 on Saturday, November 7, 2025, where Pastor James Jackson will serve as Officiant and will deliver words of comfort to the family.
