Gregory Don Eddy

June 8, 1959 – August 1, 2024

Mr. Greg Eddy, 65, of Stamps, Arkansas passed away peacefully at his home on the evening of August 1, 2024, after a battle with cancer related health concerns. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, cousin, and friend.

He was born to the late Mr. Donald Ray (Bear) Eddy and the late Ms. Norma J. Norwood. He was a proud graduate of the Stamps High School Yellowjacket Class of 1977. He was employed by and retired from the Arkansas Department of Transportation after 30 years of service to them. He was an avid hunter, of deer, duck and squirrels most of his life and most importantly he was an active member of the Patmos Church of Christ.

Greg enjoyed finding restaurants whether close by or far away and vacationing with his family during the Summer. He as well had a love for football, basketball, and food shows were some of his favorite things to watch on T.V. He had many special friends and cousins who always laughed as he told jokes.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, his grandparents, Uncle James Stanley, Uncle Frank Olney, Uncle Gerald and Aunt Betty Nix, and his stepfather, Mr. Ray Norwood.

He is survived by and leaves to cherish many memories, his wife, Mrs. Mayme Leslie Eddy of Stamps, Arkansas, one daughter, and her fiancé, Michelle Eddy and Michael Chapa of North Little Rock, Arkansas. His aunts, Wanda Olney of Yakima, Washington and Carolyn Dinkins of Texarkana, Arkansas. His uncles, David (Ruth) Stanley of Pearland, Texas and Donnie (Peggy) Stanley of Searcy, Arkansas. Brothers in law and sisters in law, John (Billie Jo) Pierson of Lewisville, Arkansas and Warren (Bobbie Sue) Levan of Stamps, Arkansas. His nephews, Patrick Pierson, and Logan Pierson of Lewisville, Arkansas and a host of other family members, friends, former co-workers and classmates.

The family wishes to share a special thanks to Dr. Sunri Patel and the staff of chemo professionals at Collum and Carney Oncology in Texarkana, Texas as well as the staff and professionals of Enhabit Hospice of Texarkana. Both provided him with wonderful care during his journey and battle with cancer.

The family has opted to have a graveside service which will be held at a later time and date. In lieu of flowers and memorials, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis Tennessee.
