Edward Eason, Sr.

December 26, 1936 -November 15, 2023

Mr. Edward Eason, Sr. 86, of Lewisville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, surrounded by family members. Mr. Eason has been a lifetime resident of Lewisville, Arkansas supporting his wife and children by working at Fuller Lumber Company until they closed and then Marlar and Whistle Lumber Company until he retired as a very aged man. He had an infectious laugh, loved to joke and no matter where he was seen, even in his older age and after some health concerns, he almost always had a smile.

Mr. Eason was born to the late Mr. Lewis Eason, Sr., and the late Mrs. Annie Burton – Eason. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years just two short months ago, and all his siblings, Mr. Lewis Eason, Jr., Mr. Earl Eason, Sr., Mr. Clarence Eason, Ms. Arma Lee Pickens, Mrs. Estella Turner, Mrs. Rose Eason, Mrs. Ruby Lee Smith, Ms. Gracie Eason, and Mrs. Roberta Eason.

He is survived by two sons, Mr. Eddie (Velma) Eason and Mr. Edward Eason, Jr. both of Lewisville, Arkansas. Six daughters, Ms. Katherine Eason-McGeough of Seattle Washington, Ms. Ruby Eason of Hope, Arkansas, Mrs. Annie Mae (Lee) Surman of Texarkana, Texas, Mrs. Aggie (Chris) Eason of Lewisville, Arkansas, Mrs. Brenda (Leslie) Eason-Phillips of Hope, Arkansas, and Ms. Berlinda Featherston of Lewisville, Arkansas. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, her last living sister-in-law, Mrs. Edna Williams of Lewisville, Arkansas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and fellow co-workers.

When Mr. Eason was able, he loved spending time outside, and was especially proud of his garden. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and seemed to spend his last days loving on them. He was a fun-loving daddy, granddaddy, uncle, cousin, and friend. It was not uncommon to see him either listening to or telling some joke or funny story. He had such an infectious laugh that if you were anywhere near him, you couldn't help but to laugh with him.

His service is scheduled for Saturday December 2, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Chapel at 415 East First Street, Stamps, Arkansas, a public visitation will be held Friday, December 1, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. with interment immediately after his service in Old Town Cemetery where his final resting place will be right beside his loving wife under the direction of Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Staff.
