May 1, 1960 – November 9, 2021
Mr. Donald Jay Montero, 61 of Stamps, Arkansas formerly of Hope, Arkansas by way of Auburn, California, passed away at his residence in Stamps, Arkansas on Tuesday November 9, 2021 after a long battle with illness. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Mr. Montero the late Mr. Joseph Montero and the late Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Frances on May 1, 1960 in Auburn, California.
He was employed at Matlock’s Convenience Store in Hope and Tim’s Grocery in Lewisville until his health his health failed. He was a Christian man who was active at Missionary Bible Church, he loved his fianc’ee, Ms. Kay Pounders, his children, grandchildren and was well respected by his friends and associates. He was a Mr. Fix-it guy who loved tools, model cars, and fishing. When you could find him sitting down, he love watching movies especially Steven Segal, Donald had a copy of every movie he had ever starred in.
He was preceded in death both of his parents, and both sets of his grandparents.
He is survived by his daughters, Destanie and her husband Daniel Simmons, Viola and her husband Eddie Montero, Deziree Montero, Misty and her husband Gabe Hernandez as well as some bonus children, Brian Pounders, Michelle Pounders and Cassie Clark. Thirteen siblings who live across the United States. Grandchildren, Vicci Montero, Chuy Mojica, Maria Gonzalez, Anira Gonzalez, Hunter Simmons, Marianna Lucero, Eddie Lucero Jr, Emillano Cabrerra, Emma Gene Cabrerra, Linda Cabrerra, Gabe Hernandez, Jr, Nina Hernandez, Lillyana Hernandez, Marissa Hernandez, Nicholas Pierce, Dixie Pounders, Matthew Baker, Madison Spruill, Malaina Spruill and Harleigh Jo Bean. One great-granddaughter, Kylea Gean Wingo and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at a time to be announced later by the family under the direction of Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home and Staff.
There will not be a public visitation.
