September 28, 1952 – May 7, 2026
Ms. Cora Lee Rone, 73, of Hooks, Texas, formerly of Stamps, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home in Hooks Texas in the early morning hours of May 7, 2026. She was surrounded by family. She was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, friend and domestic partner of forty-three years to Mr. Roy Lee Beasley. She was a Christian and member of Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Hooks, Texas.
She was born on September 28, 1952, to the late Ms. Minnie Lee Jones-White in Buckner, Arkansas and spent her formative years in Stamps and went on to graduate from Ellis High School. She served as a Home Health Worker and would go on to do janitorial work, proving that she was a true servant to the people.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ms. Minnie Lee White, two sons, Charles Rone and Tonie Rone, three brothers, Andrew Lee Mask, Wilbert Smith, and Bennie Lee Smith, as well as a sister, Ms. Lila Mae Mack. She is survived by, and leaves to cherish many memories, her daughter, Ms. Teresa “Tara” Rone. Two brothers, Rickey Whitee of Grady, Arkansas and Ollie (Nellie) White of Americus, Georgia. Two sisters, Donna Mack and Crystal Gipson, both of Augusta, Georgia. Six grandchildren, Shanica Ronee, Ta’Coria Rowden, Shrytonia Rone, LaTonya Rone, Tonie Rone, and Tavarious Crabtree. Sixteen great-grandchildren, Alyashe Noble (Jaylon Morgan), Asanti Butler, Jha’Kneia Butler, Emmanuel Lewis, Elijah Lewis, Davarrian Butler, Jaivion Butler, Samya Powell-Rone, MaKayla Reed, Decariea Powell, Devicea Rone-Powell, Abagail Rone, Tonie Rone, III. Aubrey King, Dreyah Rone and Ja’Qalyn Rone. One great-great grandson, Jay’Von Morgan. Her significant other of forty-three years, Mr. Roy Lee Beasley, William “Ba-Ba” (Paula) Beasley, Asa Scroggins (Terry), and Thomas Koontz (LaTonya). A host of other relatives, friends, former co-workers and fellow church members.
Her service will be held at Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 2608 County Road 2110, Hooks, Texas 75561, where Dr. R.L. Ruffin will serve as Officiant and Eulogist, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. Public visitation will be held at the church on Friday evening May 29, 2026, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Interment will be held immediately following her service at Buckner Community Cemetery, North College Street at Lafayette County Road 43, Buckner, Arkansas 71827.
