Mrs. Bessie M. Turner
April 18, 1944 – January 12, 2026

Mrs. Bessie M. Turner, 81, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at Willis-Knighton Pierre Mont on the evening of January 12, 2026. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend and most importantly, a devoted Christian who was active unto death. Some of her favorite past times were raising and taking care of her children and grandchildren, cooking, reading, playing video games on her phone and listening to gospel music.
She was born to the late Mr. Bush Mabry and the late Ms. Mae Bell Matthews – Mabry, in Greenwood, Mississippi on April 18, 1944. She was one of five siblings and the sole survivor. In her early years, her parents relocated from Greenwood, Mississippi to Little Rock, Arkansas where she attended school and went on to Graduate from Jones High School in North Little Rock, Arkansas. On March 20, 1964, she married the love of her life, Mr. Franklin D. Turner, who she would spend her entire life with as a homemaker, confidant, mother and best friend.
She was preceded in death by both parents, Mr. Bush Mabry and Mrs. Mae Bell Matthews-Mabry, all four siblings, Ms. Earnestine Williams, Ms. Josephine Mabry, Ms. Rose Williams, and Mr. Ivory Mabry.
She leaves to cherish her many memories, her beloved husband of sixty-one years, Mr. Franklin D. Turner. Her five children, Mrs. Deborah T. (Geary) Crawford or Winnsboro, Louisiana, Mr. Franklin D. (Jacqueline) Turner, Jr. of Owasso, Oklahoma, Mr. Jeffrey A. Turner (Juliana) Faulk, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mr. Anthony Turner (Tom Carter) of Seattle, Washington, and Mr. Steven Turner of Shreveport, Louisiana. Her grandchildren, Brandon M. (JoAnn) Clark and Ms. Jessica Turner. Her great-grandchildren, Vivienne Clark, Norah Clark, Avery Coleman and Turner Clark and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her service will be held at Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 415 East First Street, Stamps, Arkansas on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. where Pastor Marcus White will serve as Officiant and Pastor MacArthur Turner will serve as the Eulogist. Her interment will be immediately following her service at Wise Cemetery in Old Town, Highway 29 North at Cemetery Road in Lewisville, Arkansas 71845.
