Alma Elizabeth Edmond
June 8, 1946 – March 10, 2025
Ms. Alma Elizabeth Edmond, 78, of Stamps, Arkansas passed away peacefully at South Arkansas Regional Hospital in El Dorado, Arkansas on the morning of March 10, 2025. She was well respected by the citizens of Stamps and delivered newspapers throughout the city but most importantly she was a Christian and dedicated member of True Word South Ministries in Camden Arkansas.
She was born June 8, 1946, to the late Ms. Annie Mae Ingram and the late Mr. James Tillis, Sr. and was an only child. She spent the early years of her life in Stamps with Ms. Emma Gallagher of Stamps who served as a role model and guardian. Part of her adolescent years were spent in Oakland California, she came back to Arkansas and graduated from Ellis High School and went on to attend College at Prairie View A&M, Prairie View, Texas. Throughout her life she worked many jobs until she was hired for her dream job at the Federal Reserve. Upon retirement she moved back to her childhood home and lived her remaining years there.
She enjoyed caring for her friends and always had an open door for anyone who needed her help. As an active member of True Word South Ministries, she volunteered in many ways. She was always willing to share her time, her treasures and her talents doing everything from cooking to bible study.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, Darnell Edmond of Los Angeles, California, Carnell Edmond of Stamps, Arkansas and a bonus son, Gregory Edmond of Stamps, Arkansas. Two daughters, Mekicia (Chris) Henry of Hope, Arkansas and Konisha Harris of Stamps, Arkansas. Her grandchildren, LaQonya Conner, Brittanie Edmond, Deonte’ Johnson, Car’Darius Edmond, Tara Henry and McKinney Edmond. Her great grandchildren, Alicia Conner, Alivia Alexander and Paisley Johnson. Her extended family members, Jessie Mae Webb, Carla McConnell, Tony Shanks, Antania Rone, Jada Rone and the entire Ingram family of Texas, Florida and California. She had two special friends, Catherine Rone and Gloria Grissom and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her service will be held and Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 415 East First Street, Stamps, Arkansas on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. where Bishop Robert Arnold will serve as Officiant and Eulogist under the direction of Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home. A public visitation will be held at the Chapel on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. Interment will be immediately following her service at Lakeside Cemetery #2 on Valley Street, Stamps, Arkansas.
Masks are optional but highly recommended for the sake of health, safety and well-being.
